Organisers
A wide range of communities, schools and charitable organisations in Battersea have come together to organise the Battersea Community Festival. You can find out about all the organisers below.

Battersea Alliance

The Battersea Alliance has been formed by the Big Local SW11 (which is an independent, resident-led group that has been awarded £1m to invest in projects that improve opportunities for local people and strengthen our community) to help deliver its own strategy for the local community.
The Alliance is a partnership with the Big Local SW11, working together with five local long-standing, trusted and passionate organisations, with deep community roots and social relations that span many generations, working together to build a stronger Battersea.
To fulfil its objectives and strategy the Battersea Alliance works in partnership with local community delivery partners.
Big Local SW11
Big Local SW11 has committed £10,000 to support communities in Battersea in areas that do not have well established groups and/or community organisations but want to get involved in the Jubilee year by putting on events or developing projects. Along with our Partners we want to guide, support or mentor individuals or fledgling community groups in the planning and delivery of their jubilee event.

Caius House

All at Caius House remain committed to giving the young people in our local community a safe place to go where they can try new things, develop talent further and have fun. With our unique team of experienced youth workers, educators, musicians, counsellors, trained dancers and media specialists we are able to support individuals and provide targeted programmes to encourage each young person to develop their individual skills and talents.
Carney’s Community is inspired by Mick Carney the boxing legend who motivated and turned around many lives through engagement with boxing. Mick introduced youth worker George Turner to boxing coach Mark Reigate and together they founded Carney’s Community in 2011.

The mentoring that Carney’s Community offers is unique. Many of our beneficiaries report being ‘passed between’ different agencies (one young person had to tell his story to 40 different professionals before accessing support) which can lead to young people feeling frustrated, and disengaging from support services.
At Carney’s Community, a young person builds a trusting relationship with a single consistent person; this relationship lasts as long as the young person needs; and the mentoring is taken up by the young person when they want it and are motivated to make changes in their lives.

We achieve results through:
- sustained, intensive one-to-one mentoring whenever it is needed, for as long as it is needed;
- teaching employable skills, discipline, self-respect and a sense of purpose by focusing on education, employment, and personal development, alongside group activities such as sport and the arts;
- creating a supportive community environment, something often missing from a young person’s life; and
- creating a ‘virtuous cycle’ – once our mentees are employable and employed, we encourage them to give back by taking on the role of mentor or coach.
Our services are targeted at disadvantaged young people aged 11 to 30 who come from deprived backgrounds in Wandsworth, Lambeth, and the surrounding areas.
Enable
Enable is a not-for-profit organisation, working in partnership with councils, charities and other organisations to deliver health, leisure and community services and events that enrich people’s lives. We go further, reinvesting any profit from our activities to make an even bigger difference, strengthening the communities we work with.

Katherine Low Settlement

Katherine Low Settlement is a much-loved, busy charity that has been at the heart of the community in Battersea, South West London, since 1924. With a few staff and a lot of volunteers, we run a range of our own community services, we campaign for social change and we support other charities and communities to thrive.
We support children, young people and their families, older people, women and refugees and newly-arrived communities. Our building is used for community activities and events by over 500 people a week, and our rooms are available for hire at affordable rates. We are grateful for the funding we receive from supporters, trusts and foundations to enable us to continue to reduce poverty and isolation and bring Battersea together.
Providence House
For the last 50 years Providence House Youth Club has been passionate about improving the lives and outcomes for young people who predominantly come from the Winstanley Estate in North Battersea*. The Youth Club is situated in Falcon Road on the edge of the Winstanley Estate. We aim to provide social, recreational, sporting and educational activities in a weekly programme and during school holidays for young people aged 5-25 years.
At Providence one of our key goals is to provide a sense of community and identity for each of the young people; offering an alternative to anti-social behaviour and social isolation. We encourage everyone to have fun, make new friends and be involved in the range of activities.

Riverside Broadcasting CIC

Riverside Broadcasting CIC is a not for profit media organisation running Riverside Radio, the community radio station for the south west London boroughs of Richmond, Wandsworth, Merton and Lambeth.
Volunteers create and present their own radio programmes, join our sports, arts and news team to produce shows from our studio complex in Battersea on the Doddinton and Rollo estate.
St Peter’s Battersea
We are a diverse bunch who meet on the edge of the Winstanley Estate, not far from Clapham Junction.
We know how important it is that you find a church where you make friends, feel you belong and grow in your relationship with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We’d love to get to know you and help you find your spiritual home in this great city.
